Is this knife full tang?
Yes, like all our knives, our Paring Knife is full tang. That means that the blade extends fully through the handle in both length and width, making the knife a single piece of steel. In other words, our knives rely on a solid, continuous piece of steel for superior strength and stability. Our knives are therefore more durable, well balanced, and will cut through denser foods with less effort.
Can I put my knife in the dishwasher?
We recommend to hand-wash and dry your Mëren knife after every use. You might get away with dishwashing a few times, but you always risk damaging your knife. Dishwashers expose knives to extreme temperatures and soaking, which may cause rust to form.
For how long will my knife stay sharp?
When we tested our high-carbon AUS-10 blades, they consistently outperformed “luxury” brands and retained their edge for 20-40% longer. However, like all knives, our Paring knife won’t stay sharp forever. How often you’ll need to sharpen it will depend on how frequently you use it and what items you cut, but it’s usually a couple times every year for the regular home cook.
I’m a professional chef. Is this knife also suited for me?
Absolutely! During our product creation process we partnered with experienced restaurant chefs so that, at each iteration, we could test and get feedback from experts in the industry. That means that, although priced much lower, our knives are designed to perform in the rigors of professional kitchens and even outdo brands that cost 50-70% more.
